Sacramental Preparation

Due to its occupation as part of the ‘footprint’ of original Church building, the New Life Centre still remains a space that provides a link between the Church and the community.

Today, this role is mostly covered under the term of Sacramental
Preparation.

There are 3 sacraments that are primarily catered for in the New Life Centre:

• Baptism
• First Confession [Reconciliation] and First Communion [Eucharist]
• Confirmation

Baptism:

• All parents looking for Baptism of their children need to collect and complete a form from The New Life Centre and returned to the New Life Centre along with a copy of the Birth Certificate of the child.
• A Baptismal Preparation Meeting will be arranged with the parents and a member of the Parish Baptismal Team and a date for the Baptism Ceremony will be agreed.

First Confession [Reconciliation] and First Communion [Eucharist]:

• The First Confession and First Communion Programme is undertaken in partnership with the local primary school [Our Lady Immaculate Junior
  National School] and the Parish Team.
• A yearly programme is issued to the relevant classes in the school and all instruction [Communion Club], Masses, Parent’s Meetings, etc. are listed on this programme.

Confirmation:

• The Confirmation Programme is undertaken in partnership with the local
  primary school [Our Lady Immaculate Senior National School] and the Parish Team.
• A yearly programme is issued to the relevant classes in the school and all instruction [Confirmation Club], Masses, Parent’s Meetings, Retreats, etc. are listed on this programme.
