Advent means God is close, God is near, God is on the way.
People and places are environments in which we find God.
Christmas is the season of the closeness of God. God is on his journey to us in Mary and the Son shew is carrying.
Is our journey too fast, too complicated, too rushed so that we miss God on God’s journey?
Something new can happen for each of us each Christmas, because God makes the journey a new in the simplest way we know.
If only we take the time.
Lord Jesus, Master of both the light and the darkness, send your Holy Spirit upon our preparation for Christmas.
We who have so much to do seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day.
We who are anxious over many things look forward to your coming among us.
We who are blessed in so many ways long for the complete joy of your Kingdom.
We whose hearts are heavy seek the joy of your presence.
We are your people, walking in darkness yet seeking the light.
To you we say, ‘Come Lord Jesus’.
